Congratulations for kicking off your own podcast! Great tip for the image rotation. Btw. the measure tool works for both, horizontals and verticals. I frequently use it to straighten images using the verticals on buildings.
Keep it up!
Cheers from the top floor,
Chris

Hey Chris! Thanks for poppin' by the website. You are right about being able to use the measure tool for verticals as well. It must have slipped my mind when I was recording. I'll definitely add that in to the next show.
I also have to say, that I listen to your podcast, and it's great. I really enjoyed the interview with Steven Georges since I'm also in the LA area and interested in Press Photography.
Keep up the good work on the top floor!

This is great. I actually like the simplicity of Picasa' Straighten Tool but I am glad to get tips on Photoshop.
I also tried to go to one of your links and comment but I could not log in.
Thanks.

Hey JG,
Glad you liked the tip! I haven't actually used Picasa so I'm unfamiliar with the Straighten tool, but it sound super easy to use. Really the photoshop method is quick too, it just takes some practice.
As far as the link goes, which link did you try to go to?
Thanks for listening,
-Kent

Hello. I cannot find the measure tool in Photoshop Elements 2.0. What version of Photoshop are you using? Thanks for the good tips anyway. Rick.

Hey Kent:
I like to use the crop tool to level my photos. You drag the crop tool along any line that is supposed to be level. Next position a corner of the crop area over the end of the line to be leveled. Drag the center marker of the crop tool over the corner mark and go to the other end of the crop area and rotate the crop box until it matches the line in the photo you want to level. This is the most important step. When you are happy with the angle of the crop box, pull the box out until it crops the photo leaving as much photo showing as possible. Double click and the photo will be cropped and leveled at the same time.
